Water access in Mara is inconsistent. Therefore, the Wayuu Taya Foundation launched the "Water for All" program in 2021, securing three water trucks. The Foundation donates water to hospitals, schools and elderly centers to ensure consistent water. So far, over 36,200 people have accessed water.
Utilizing food received from Acceso, the Wayuu Taya Foundation provided regular food assistance to 156 communities, 75 schools and, 76 organizations. To date WTF has provided food to over 71,525 people and served more than 2,900,000 meals.
The Wayuu Taya Foundation, since 2020, has received 8,900 kilograms of medical care provisions benefiting 200,000 people thanks to Direct Relief and Core. Additionally, 28,000 Kilograms of personal hygiene supplies were distributed to 57,000 people provided by Colgate Palmolive - Venezuela. Our ophthalmology health drive has benefited 1,070 children thanks to VSP Vision Care.
